Ending a 8 years relationship. My 32M bf does not seem to understand this is in fact a decision

I’m a 26F and I had a very long relationship with my 32M bf. I don’t want to speak badly about him, the relationship was just not working out for me these past 2 years since I had to leave my country, my family and everything that I hold dear to me just to be with him in another country. ( i did that in 2021) After a big burn-out that I managed without his support (he was laughing at me and calling me names bc I did not wanted to work and stayed home in a médical leave for some months bc I was crying my eyes out ), I started seeing this psychologist that opened my eyes on the matter and made me see I was terribly unhappy and lonely.. I’ve spent months thinking about my next move, hoping he will change or maybe I’m asking for too much of him when I ask to do things together or just for him to be present when I talk to him. Everything proved me otherwise. So I made the decision to quit the relationship and this country once and for all. But it’s been two weeks since we have the same convo about: ‘maybe you should stay’ , it was not that bad and things like this. He is minimizing my feelings and always says I’m too sensitive and that I make a big mistake. That I should forgive and forget and who is gonna love me if I’m that sensitive with such big standards. He is a good man, everyone loves him and adores him. So now my uncles and his family and friends are all telling me that things like this ( name calling, ironies, lack of attention) they happen to every couple and that I need to leave it be and stay… I am losing my mind .. Anyone that has been in this situation ? How did you managed ? submitted by /u/Flashy-Muffin-3439 to r/relationship_advice [link] [comments]
